WWE Stock Track 2016
Week 24 – June 20-24

WWE’s stock price climbed to a year-high early in the week, but suddenly fell back to earth on Friday as the global markets reacted negatively to “Brexit” – the U.K. voting to leave the European Union.

– Monday, June 20: The day after the Money in the Bank, the stock price skyrocketed.

WWE peaked at $19.72 per share, the highest point in eight months dating back to October 28, 2015.

However, the stock closed below $19 at $18.88 per share, up slightly from Friday’s close of $18.56 per share.

– Tuesday, June 21: The stock again climbed above $19 per share, peaking at $19.20.

However, the stock closed at $18.66 per share, down from Monday.

– Wednesday, June 22: The stock again climbed above $19 per share, peaking at $19.02.

However, the stock closed at $18.51 per share, down from Tuesday and below last week’s closing price.

– Thursday, June 23: The stock again climbed above $19 per share, peaking at $19.09 per share.

This time, WWE closed above $19 at $19.08 per share, the highest closing price in eight months going back to October 2015.

And then WWE’s market value fell off on Friday…

– Friday, June 24: WWE closed at $18.18 per share, down nearly one dollar (4.7 percent) from Thursday.

The stock fell as low as $18.01 per share. The peak price was $18.49 per share. WWE closed at $19.08 per share on Thursday, but the market was already way down in pre-trading hours from the Brexit news in the U.K. that WWE opened much lower than Thursday’s close of $19.08.

The overall stock market fell 3.4 percent in the Dow and 4.1 percent in the NASDAQ, so WWE was in-line with the broader declines.

WWE is now valued at $1.38 billion, down from $1.41 billion to close last week after Friday knocked out their big early-week gains.
