After being cleared to return to the ring by WWE, Daniel Bryan will be appearing at the start of tonight’s SmackDown.

Bryan announced the news while making his first comments about returning: “Saying goodbye to the ring was one of the hardest moments of my life. But thanks to the amazing people supporting me, I was able to keep fighting for my dream. This moment feels surreal and I’m glad to be able to talk to you all at the beginning of #SDLive tonight.”

Bryan was scheduled to return to television tonight to address Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn’s attack on Shane McMahon from last Tuesday. As Dave Meltzer reported, Bryan & Shane vs. Owens & Zayn has been the plan for WrestleMania 34 if Bryan were able to get cleared.

Brie Bella, Bryan’s wife, also wrote about how happy she is for Bryan after the long road he’s taken to get to this point: “From the moment they told him No, he was on a mission to turn that no into a YES. I can’t wait for you all to hear his journey to this moment…his dedication, his mission and his passion. My daughter is lucky to have a Daddy who never gives up and who’s truly an amazing role model. I love you @bryanldanielson so happy that you’re back at the place you love, your home away from home…the squared circle.”
