Saturday’s UFC Fight Night event from Melbourne, Australia, drew 686,000 viewers while the four-fight prelim show brought in 654,000 viewers.
The main card number was the third lowest rating of 2016 for UFC on FS1 which was probably to be expected given the lineup and the main event featuring two middleweight contenders in Robert Whittaker vs. Derek Brunson. The original main event of Luke Rockhold vs. Jacare Souza was scrapped due to a Rockhold injury.
This show did beat out the October 1st show headlined by John Lineker vs John Dodson (657,000 viewers) and the July 13th show headlined by Lineker vs. Michael McDonald (609,000 viewers).

The viewership for the prelims was actually up 23% from last weekend’s prelims, which is somewhat surprising. It was only the fifth lowest prelims number of the year, and close to the year to date average of 720,000 viewers.
UFC returns to FS1 this Saturday with Demetrious Johnson defending his flyweight championship against the TUF tournament winner with Joseph Benavidez vs. Henry Cejudo in the co-main event.
