Lesnar Assaults Angle, Heyman Split? WWE Honors Volkoff & Lawler

Brock Lesnar returned to Raw tonight for the first time in several months during last night’s show in the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, but the Universal Champion was in no mood to go out in front of the live crowd. Lesnar has not competed in a match since The Greatest Royal Rumble event in April of this year, and the current belief is that he may be on his way out of WWE very soon in order to rejoin UFC and resume his MMA career. Given that Lesnar rarely appears on WWE programming, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle recently ordered Brock Lesnar to return to television or risk being stripped of the Universal Championship ahead of WWE’s huge SummerSlam pay-per-view in August.

After weeks of staying quiet, Lesnar finally appeared on Raw last night and made a huge statement by attacking Kurt Angle. “The Beast Incarnate” also shocked fans by choking out Paul Heyman in the middle of the ring. Heyman had been required to make Lesnar enter the ring by Kurt Angle or else he would have been fired. Lesnar begrudgingly did Heyman the favor, but he grabbed and squeezed him by the neck in the middle of the ring and yelled at him just to show that he does not even care for his own advocate of several years. Brock Lesnar will be defending the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns in what is heavily rumored to be his final match in WWE at the SummerSlam event next month.

This past Sunday was a dark day for wrestling fans everywhere as it was confirmed that WWE Hall of Famer Nikolai Volkoff had died, and it was then reported that former Too Cool member and son of Jerry “The KIng” Lawler, Brian Christopher Lawler. had passed away later on that day after he had been taken off of life support due to a suicide attempt. Given that both competitors left their own legacies during their stints with WWE, it only seemed fitting for the company to pay tribute to the deceased wrestlers. Prior to the beginning of last night’s episode of Raw, WWE put up a graphic dedicating the show to the late Volkoff and Christopher. Volkoff died at the age of 70 yesterday while Christopher was just 46-years-old.
