It has become common for WWE to bring back some names from the past for some of the tournament shows that they host on the WWE Network each year. Brian Kendrick returned to WWE during the 2016 Cruiserweight Classic while Serena Deeb came back during last year’s Mae Young Classic, and this year’s edition of the Mae Young Classic will be no different as it was recently confirmed that Celeste “Kaitlyn” Bonin will be coming back to the ring to compete in the tournament this year. Kaitlyn has not competed in a WWE ring in four years, and she only recently returned to the squared circle, but there is no denying that the former WWE Superstar went on to achieve a lot during her initial run with the company.
Kaitlyn was involved in some memorable feuds and angles during her first stint in WWE, and the company just decided to document five of her greatest moments in a new video that was recently uploaded onto the official YouTube channel for WWE. Fans who watch the video can relive Kaitlyn’s feud with AJ Lee, as well as her becoming the first-ever female winner of NXT, and of course, when she was able to defeat Eve Torres to win the Divas Championship. Kaitlyn will be coming back to compete in the 32-woman Mae Young Classic tournament on August 8th and August 9th. It is certainly possible that her return could mean that she is back to create even more memories for herself and the fans in the very near future.
Love her or hate her, Carmella has managed to hold on to the Smackdown Women’s Championship for months now, and she is positioned as one of the top female stars on the entire brand. The champion now appears to be working on a film project that is being produced by WWE’s Joey Maloney. Maloney just posted a photo on his Instagram account of Carmella being interviewed for a future documentary that will be coming out later on this year. It appears that the special will see Carmella return to her hometown and show fans a glimpse of her life before she became a WWE Superstar. A few more photos taken from the documentary shoot were posted on Carmella’s official Instagram story.
