Fans went absolutely insane when former WWE Champion Rey Mysterio made a sudden appearance during the men’s Royal Rumble match back in January. Mysterio has been away from WWE for quite some time now, and the company seems eager to bring Mysterio back home. WWE took notice of the reaction that he got at the Royal Rumble, as well as the reaction that Mysterio’s appearance that he got on social media, and they have been trying to sign him to a new WWE contract since Mysterio’s Royal Rumble appearance was originally intended to be a one-off appearance. Mysterio’s return has been talked about for months now, and it just may happen later tonight.
Several fans have speculated that Mysterio could finally make his full-fledged WWE return later tonight during WrestleMania, but it appears that the biggest piece of evidence has just been presented. PWInsider just revealed that MAJOR POTENTIAL SPOILER earlier today, which states that Mysterio has was spotted in the same hotel that all of the WWE Superstars and performers have been staying in over the past few days in New Orleans, Louisiana. While this does not necessarily confirm that Mysterio will be coming back to WWE later on tonight, this does seem to provide fans with even more speculation that WWE just may be planning his return to the ring as a major surprise for tonight.
Given the common saying stating “anything can happen at WrestleMania,” the event seems like the most appropriate place for Mysterio to make his WWE return. The high-flying wrestler can definitely still hang with the best wrestlers that WWE has to offer today, and there are no shortage of spots for him to take in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal match later tonight, and keep in mind that Braun Strowman still has not named his tag team partner for his Raw Tag Team Championship match against Cesaro and Sheamus planned for later tonight. Rey Mysterio is said to have fulfilled all of his other commitments in New Orleans, so perhaps his return will take place during WrestleMania later tonight.
