Ron Wright, one of the featured stars of Eastern Tennessee wrestling from the 60s through the early 80s, who later worked as a manager, passed away this morning.
Wright, as noted in yesterday’s update, had been in hospice care.
Ron & Don Wright were a regular tag team in the old Knoxville circuit, where they were perennial Tennessee tag team champions, and by the 70s, owned a piece of the promotion.
He later managed in the area, doing the gimmick of being an ornery heel in a wheelchair, managing he likes of The Mongolian Stomper, and later, the Dirty White Boy.
