Daga reportedly released by Impact Wrestling

Wrestling Inc. reported Tuesday that Daga has been released by Impact Wrestling per his request.

The 32-year-old had been with the company since February 2019. He had worked on and off for them while regularly wrestling around the world for MLW and other indie promotions.

The report said Daga (Miguel Angel Olivo) had asked for his release “some time ago” but that Impact held off as they wanted him to re-sign. Daga’s fiancee, former Impact World Champion Tessa Blanchard, had her contract terminated in June as there was friction between the two sides leading up to her release. It’s unknown if he asked for his release when Blanchard was cut, or when his contract was up.

He has yet to confirm the news on social media, but did tweet Monday, “It’s just a matter of time…”

He is a former AAA Cruiserweight Champion and is also a Lucha Underground alumni where he was a Trios Champion.
