— The beginning of the end for Big Cass in WWE was indeed at the May 1 Smackdown in Montreal when he defied company orders and beat down on the little person. The script had been laid out where Cass was to deliver only a big boot but he went to officials asking if he could do a beatdown as well.

— When he was told that he couldn’t, Cass went directly to Vince McMahon who also nixed his idea. As we saw, Cass ended up going into business for himself and started throwing punches on the little person after delivering the boot. The belief is that whatever direction his storyline with Daniel Bryan was headed, it all changed after that and is likely the reason he was jobbed out via submission on two straight PPVs as punishment.
