PAC and Cassidy faced off Wednesday in a no. 1 contender’s match, but the match ended in a no contest. Cassidy was legitimately knocked out on a Liger bomb as he was tended to by referee Aubrey Edwards and medical personnel as the show went to commercial. After a long break and Cassidy laid out in the corner, Don Callis came out to distract PAC as Omega laid him out with the title belt, leading to the ten count and a no contest.

Tony Schiavone immediately came out and said Tony Khan made the match a three-way at Double or Nothing. The camera focused on PAC and never showed Cassidy.

Dave Meltzer said the plan all along was that the match would be a three-way. PW Insider reported that the plan was for the match to go to a 20-minute draw, but when Cassidy was hurt, they called an audible on how they would get there.
