Goldberg Slays ‘The Fiend’ Bray Wyatt To Win WWE Universal Title

Bill Goldberg is once again a world champion.

The 53-year-old WWE Hall of Famer returned to action this Thursday in the main event of WWE Super Showdown. Despite the odds – and possibly all the forces of hell – stacked against him, Goldberg stunned the Saudi Arabian crowd by slaying The Fiend to recapture the Universal title.

While his victory only took a matter of minutes, it wasn’t exactly easy. The heavyweight juggernaut had to deliver numerous spears as well as his patented Jackhammer, powering out of Wyatt’s signature Mandible Claw variation just to survive the bout.

Like it or not, this Goldberg’s second run with the new-age title. He is also a former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and of course famously held the WCW World Heavyweight Championship while in World Championship Wrestling.

As reported earlier today via Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, there have been major changes to the Smackdown side of the WrestleMania 36 match card. The current plan is supposedly for Goldberg to face Roman Reigns at the pay-per-view.
