NXT TakeOver: XXV is coming to Connecticut on Saturday, June 1 and Triple H recently commented on the reason why. The Game made the announcement on May 6 via Twitter, ending several week’s worth of speculation among WWE fans.
So what was the reason for the holdup and why is TakeOver: XXV coming to WWE’s city of operations?
“We originally had announced that San Jose, the site of one of our first on-the-road events for NXT, was going to be the June TakeOver. But as you know, WWE runs about 600 live events a year, it’s like putting together a huge puzzle. So there became a bit of a scheduling conflict with San Jose. Fortunately for us, Bridgeport, Connecticut, stepped up to the challenge, Webster Arena and we will now be there.
I’ve been wanting to bring a TakeOver to Connecticut, in our backyard, for a long time now. Fans have been asking for it, they’ve behind hitting us up for it for a while and this was the opportunity to do it.”
TakeOver is regarded by many fans as one of the best events in pro wrestling today. The cards are typical stacked with stars, the matches are hard-fought and everyone is almost always on their game. The black and gold brand represents what WWE is capable of when the focus is on the in-ring action and TakeOver: XXV will surely be no exception.
