According to online reports, a surprise former WWE Superstar could be set to make their return to WWE this Sunday at Money In The Bank.
PWInsider.com is claiming that none other than, James Ellsworth will be making his return to the company at this weekend’s PPV after several creative pitches have taken place to bring Ellsworth back in some capacity.
Considering his previous roles within the company, the most logical way WWE could bring him back would be to pair him back with Carmella, potentially as a way to help her retain the SmackDown Women’s Championship in her match against Asuka.
Ellsworth was released in November 2017 following a run with Carmella, with the current champion ditching Ellsworth and leaving him laying in the ring following a loss to Becky Lynch.
James Ellsworth controversially played a major role in last years Money In The Bank show when he climbed the ladder to retrieve the briefcase for Carmella in the first ever women’s match which left many fans frustrated and forced WWE to repeat the match the following Tuesday on SmackDown Live.
Since his release, Ellsworth has remained a high profile figure on the independent scene where he has challenged Nick Aldis for the NWA Championship, competed against Matt Riddle during WrestleMania weekend and even created his own Intergender Championship.
