The author of “Gone Girl” is denouncing claims that missing Connecticut mom Jennifer Dulos staged her disappearance in a plot that closely mirrors her hit novel. 

“It absolutely sickens me that a work of fiction written by me would be used by Fotis Dulos’s lawyer as a defense, and as a hypothetical, sensationalized motive behind Jennifer’s very real and very tragic disappearance,” Gillian Flynn said Friday in a statement provided to WTNH News, referring to claims made by an attorney for Jennifer Dulos’ husband. 

Norm Pattis first made the shocking allegations to The Post in June, alleging the mother-of-five penned a 500-page manuscript last summer closely mirroring “Gone Girl.”

“This is a person who has a pretty florid imagination and motives to use it to hurt Mr. Dulos,” Pattis told The Post.

Dulos, 50, was last seen in New Canaan, Conn., on May 24 after dropping her kids off at school. Her estranged husband and his girlfriend, Michelle Troconis, have been charged with tampering with evidence and hindering prosecution in the case.

Flynn, whose 2012 novel spent four weeks on the New York Times Best Seller list and was turned into a major motion picture, expressed condolences for Dulos’ family.

“This situation is so incredibly painful, I can’t imagine what her children, her family, and all those close to her are going through,” Flynn said. “I am deeply sorry for Jennifer and her loved ones.”
