RC Lens have announced the contract extension of French centre-back Jonathan Gradit (30). The former Tours and Caen defender put pen to paper over a two-year extension, tying him to Lens until 2026. Gradit is the latest Sang-et-Or to commit to a long-term contract after strikers Florian Sotoca and Wesley Saïd, as well as defenders Facundo Medina and Deiver Machado. A former Bordeaux youth product, Gradit was a late-bloomer. He signed his first professionnal contract with Tours aged 21. He then joined Caen in 2018 before agreeing a move to Lens in 2019. He helped the northern side gain promotion the following year.

Lens lost their first home game of the season against Nice this Wednesday, and Les Sang-et-Or travels to Brest this weekend for Ligue 1 gameweek 22.
