L’Équipe are reporting that Napoli are currently leading the race to sign SCO Angers’ Azzedine Ounahi (22), who would rejoin the Ligue 1 team to finish the current campaign.
Ounahi was a standout player at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. The midfielder was part of a Morocco team that reached the semi-finals of the tournament in December, making history by becoming the first African team to do so. Naturally, he is attracting interest, and his club are resigned to losing him in the January transfer window.
Napoli are currently leading the race for his signature. The Serie A side are making concrete advances on the player, with some sources reporting that an offer has even been made. The Italian side would be willing to allow Ounahi to rejoin Angers for the rest of the season.
Marseille are also interested, as L’Équipe report. Foot Mercato have, however, said that sales are needed at the Orange Vélodrome before players can be brought in. Gerson’s potential return to Flamengo could help raise funds. Leicester are also interested in the player. There is also a surprise side in the race – Almería. The La Liga side are keen on recruiting more young talents.
