India’s first smart highway project consisting of the Eastern Peripheral Expressway and the Delhi- Meerut Expressway which was inaugurated by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on May 27 has already started showing signs of deterioration.

Crevices appeared on the sides of the expressway as spells of rain hit New Delhi. The construction workers and engineers reported that water logging in various places had led to the formation of cracks and sunken road.
