Many moms dream about tucking away their favorite handbags, jewelry, and clothing to give their kids or grandkids someday. But we’re willing to bet that there are few people who have stashed away a collection quite as impressive as the haul that Katie Holmes is saving for her 11-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise. Turns out, the actress and her mini-me share more than just their strong genes—Suri inherited Katie’s love of fashion and beauty, too. And that shared passion will pay off in the form of a seriously covetable vintage closet: Katie just revealed that Suri will receive some of her favorite red carpet designs from fashion’s biggest event of the year – the Met Gala.

“I have a few of [my Met Gala dresses for Suri],” she told Entertainment Tonight. “And a lot of them have gone back to the museums where they were.” She didn’t reveal exactly which gowns she was able to snag, but we’re sure the star held on to her most memorable Met looks of all time.

So what exactly could be in the archives? Perhaps the bold, Superman-inspired look Holmes wore for her first Met Gala in 2008, when she hit the famed Met stairs in a strapless red Giorgio Armani gown and cobalt blue pumps for the Institute’s “Superheroes: Fashion and Fantasy” theme with her then-husband Tom Cruise.

Or maybe she’s holding onto this year’s dress, which she wore for her fifth Met Gala in a row. Holmes attended the event honoring Comme des Garçons designer Rei Kawakubo’s work in a teal sweetheart off-the-shoulder jacquard Zac Posen gown – and even brought along the designer as her date.
