AEW Dynamite Preview: Can Cody Survive The Cage? Jeff Cobb vs Jon Moxley, Tag Title Match & More

All Elite Wrestling thunders into Atlanta, GA tonight for the first time ever, and to say the lineup is stacked would be an absolute understatement.

It will actually be a night full of “first time evers”, as the American Nightmare prepares to step inside AEW’s first steel cage match, in the heart of Rhodes Country. Cody is just one final step away from getting his hands on Maxwell Jacob Friedman, but after taking ten lashes on live television and showing saint-like restraint for over a month, he’ll have to walk through hell against the man they call Wardlow.

Many fans have no idea what to expect, as the juggernaut-esque bodyguard has yet to compete in an AEW ring, and was just starting to shine in the midwest indie scene when he was scooped up by the promotion in 2019. One way or another, the world will find out exactly what Wardlow is capable of tonight.

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. As we steamroll towards AEW Revolution on February 29th, Cody will not be the only star just hoping to survive until the pay-per-view. Jon Moxley, the current #1 contender to challenge Chris Jericho for the world title, will be in action against the debuting Jeff Cobb. The Hawaian Suplex Machine (and ROH star) has been taken on by the Inner Circle as a hired assassin, and will be looking to take out Mox before he can reach Le Champion!

Also set for tonight’s AEW Dynamite is a huge battle royal featuring almost all of the promotion’s current tag teams. The winner will go on to Revolution to challenge for the AEW World Tag Team Championships – but who will be the champions come next weekend? To find out, Kenny Omega and Hangman Page will put their titles on the line against their biggest threat yet, the Lucha Bros!
