Several members of a violent white supremacist gang in Alaska known as the “1488s” are facing charges in a racketeering enterprise that involved distributing drugs, firearms traffic and acts of violence, according to Department of Justice officials in the state.
Officials said that at least six people they say are members of the gang have been charged with murder in aid of racketeering, kidnapping in aid of racketeering, assault in aid of racketeering, kidnapping and conspiracy to commit assault and kidnapping in aid of racketeering.
The accused gang members were identified by DOJ officials as:

Two other people, Nicholas M. Kozorra aka “Beast,” 29 and Dustin J. Clowers, 34, who officials said are key members of the gang previously pleaded guilty to murder in aid of racketeering, the DOJ said.
According to the DOJ, the 1488s are a violent, whites only prison-based gang that was established in 2010 within the Alaska Department of Corrections and by Alaskan inmates incarcerated in Colorado and Arizona.
The DOJ alleges that there are approximately 50 to 100 members active both inside and outside of state prisons in Alaska and elsewhere. Gang members are required to “be white, look white and act white” and often had tattoos incorporating Nazi symbols, according to the DOJ.
Officials said the 1488s offered protection to white inmates if they joined the gang.
The most coveted tattoo for the gang members was a 1488 patch that was given to members who committed an act of violence on behalf of the gang, according to the DOJ.
The DOJ alleged that the gang had a detailed and uniform organizational structure. Officials alleged that the gang took place in illegal activities including narcotics trafficking, weapons trafficking and other illegal activities to earn money.
Feds said their investigation resulted in an additional 14 indictments.
