As noted, WWE Cruiserweight Rich Swann was arrested on charges of Battery and False Imprisonment last weekend, and was subsequently released from jail and suspended indefinitely by WWE.

Swann’s attorney in the case, Ian M. Pickens, has issued the following statement to Sporting News regarding Swann’s case:

“At this point, no criminal charges have been filed officially against him so depending on how that process plays out will determine our scope of representation,” Pickens said Friday morning in a telephone interview.

“We’re hopeful for a fair and quick resolution on behalf of Mr. Swann, but ultimately the state attorney will make their decision (on potential charges) when they deem it appropriate.

“We’re working on the case now and things we may do to assist Mr. Swann. But as far as specifics, I can’t comment on that.”

As noted, a witness claims Swann had placed his wife, Vannarah Riggs, in a headlock and forced her back into a car from which she was trying to escape. Swann maintained to police, however, that he never forced his wife into the vehicle, and that she got back into the car on her own.
