It was previously reported that the plan for Royal Rumble will be for Brock Lesnar to defend his Universal title against both Braun Strowman and Kane in a Triple Threat Match.
Several ideas were pitched and discussed on a potential main event for the PPV, but reportedly it was Vince McMahon’s decision to go with this main event.
The belief is that Vince didn’t want Strowman losing to Lesnar again and with Brock not having any viable opponents before WrestleMania, the decision was made to include Kane, who presumably will take the loss.
