Tripura which falls in seismic zone V is highly vulnerable area to earthquakes. As per an assessment that was conducted by the National Disaster Management Authority of the city’s infrastructure it was reported that 15,000 buildings needed immediate retrofitting considering the state’s earthquake vulnerability.
