WASHINGTON — The National Republican Congressional Committee put out new ads Monday asking New York House members in swing districts if they agree with a controversial new law approved by Gov. Andrew Cuomo and the state Legislature that provides driver’s licenses for illegal immigrants.
The digital ads target Reps. Max Rose of Staten Island, Antonio Delgado in the Hudson Valley and Anthony Brindisi of upstate Utica — the three Democrats who flipped what had been Republican districts in 2018 — as well as Sean Patrick Maloney, whom the Republicans view as someone they can take out in 2020.

The ads will run on Facebook in the lawmakers’ districts.
“Instead of cracking down on illegal immigration, Max Rose, Sean Patrick Maloney, Antonio Delgado and Anthony Brindisi have refused to denounce Andrew Cuomo’s dangerous actions,” NRCC spokesman Michael McAdams said in a statement. “New Yorkers deserve to know if they agree with Cuomo’s reckless decision to give illegal immigrants driver’s licenses.
On June 12, the New York Assembly passed a bill through the Democrat-run house that would permit illegal immigrants to obtain driver’s licenses. Five days later, it was signed by Cuomo.
Brindisi told The Post he’s against the proposal law.
“The New York state legislature’s policy is not a real solution to our broken immigration system. That’s why I’m working across the aisle at the federal level to help achieve an immigration reform plan that can actually pass — one that is tough, but fair; a system that secures our borders in a humanitarian way while ensuring the security of the United States and its citizens,” Brindisi said. “Despite misconceptions, there are Democrats and Republicans who want to achieve these broad policy goals, and I pledge to keep working alongside them.”
A spokesman for Rose told The Post he’s also against the law.
Spokespeople for Maloney and Delgado did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
