Himachal Pradesh, Kerala and Tamil Nadu have emerged as the top performing states in India, when it comes to the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals. Himachal Pradesh and Kerala shared the top position with a score of 69 each, while Tamil Nadu scored 68 in the first of its kind India Index for SDGs released on Friday.

The SDG Index for India was developed by the NITI Aayog as a comprehensive Index to measure the progress of States and Union Territories, through a single measurable Index and the First Baseline Report for 2018, prepared with the support of Global Green Growth Institute and UN in India.
