Imprisoned Steroid Dealer Continues to Accuse Roman Reigns of PED Use

As we noted back in January of this year, documentary filmmaker Johnny Bravo released an interview with Richard Rodriguez, the former owner of Iron Addicts Gym in Miami, who is now in prison after being busted in a DEA steroid raid in February of last year. During the interview, Rodriguez claims one of his clients was WWE star Roman Reigns.

Reigns later issued the following statement to the pro wrestling media regarding the accusations made by Rodriguez:

“I have never heard of Richard Rodriguez or Wellness Fitness Nutrition. I learned from the mistake I made nearly two years ago and paid the penalty for it. Since then, I’ve passed 11 tests as part of WWE’s independent drug testing program.”

Rodriguez has since released a new video, during which he asserts Roman Reigns has no choice but to deny his allegations, yet Rodriguez continues to accuse the former WWE Intercontinental Champion of steroid use, with the following quote, via PopCulture.com:

“We all know that WWE is a publicly traded company, and they claim to possess the most stringent requirement of their athletes. However, the harsh reality is that I’m here to inform everyone that those kinds of physiques are never attainable without drugs….You cannot walk around at 250 plus lbs with 4% body fat without the use of these substances.

“That’s why it’s sad to see these kinds of people that are considered role models mislead the public and their followers.

“Many of these people have a very short lifespan, first and foremost, on their profession, and spend their entire life mastering one aspect of their lives. So if they’re wrestlers, they’re only great wrestlers. It’s imperative for them the ride this out as long as possible…This is the case for Roman Reigns.”

It should be noted that we reported back when this story initially broke that the DEA will not be investigating Roman Reigns following Rodriguez’s comments, and WWE is perceiving the entire issue as a non-story at this point, with Reigns still set to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at WrestleMania 34.
