In Your Element With The Black Mountains Trail Race

Based in Crickhowell in the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, Element launches its new Black Mountains Trail Race on November 19th.

Ruth Pickvance, the founder of Element and a former international level athlete says,

“The route is simply gorgeous and it was the views and scenery that inspired me to launch this race. More and more people are enjoying running off-road and the connection with nature that comes from that. This route is lovely – it winds up the Grwyne Fawr river, famous for its salmon amidst great old trees. The route is flagged and turns to return at half way so that you get to enjoy the view the other way round on your return. We are supporting the Gwent Wildlife Trust and the Crickhowell Volunteer Bureau which facilitates D of E for students via the race. There are excellent prizes and lots of spot prizes. The race venue is only an hour from Bristol and Cardiff and really well connected by road and rail. I’ve also suggested different levels of accommodation on the website for anyone who’d like to make a weekend of it. “

This is a 9 mile ‘out and back’ trail race located in the beautiful heart of the Black Mountains starting and finishing in the pretty borders town of Crickhowell and because of Element’s inclusive ethos, there isn’t a cut of time.
