James Ellsworth’s Original WrestleMania Plans Revealed

On the latest episode of Pro Wrestling Sheet Radio, James McKeena and Ryan Satin revealed that the longterm plan for James Ellsworth was for him to challenge Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown Women’s Championship.

After the two joked about Ellsworth’s value and questioned whether or not they would pay to see Ellsworth, it was said that it was apparently the “brainchild of Vince McMahon” and that the match was to take place at WrestleMania 34.

The plans were in place as recently as August, and the idea of how to get to that point is a little shocking. The idea would have been for Ellsworth to come out one day and say he was transitioning from being a man to a woman because he now identifies himself as a woman, making him a transsexual. As a result, it would grant him the right to challenge for the Women’s Title. They speculated that the idea was turned down when they noticed the reaction that was received when Ellsworth was the one who pulled down the briefcase during the first ever Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match. Additionally, it seems that there were conversations originally that Ellsworth was to keep the Women’s Money In The Bank briefcase, but afterward, as we know, was given to Carmella.

Ellsworth was released from WWE this week after being Carmella’s valet for months, only to have Carmella turn on him last week, in addition to the Smackdown women taking him out several times on Live Events overseas.
