Kane’s Primary Election Win Not Yet Official, Details On Why, NXT Star Returning Tonight, More Matches Set

As noted, WWE star Glenn “Kane” Jacobs won the Republican Mayoral nomination in this week’s primary election in Knox County, TN, and it was said Jacobs won by a mere 17 votes.

According to ABC affiliate WATE 6, provisional ballots have yet to be counted in the election, and those results will be tallied in the coming days, meaning Jacobs’ win will not be official until sometime next week.

While Jacobs has declared victory in the primary election, the report notes 43 provisional ballots still need to be counted. A provisional ballot is used when there are questions about a voter’s eligibility. Thirty-eight of them had no record of voter registration, four had no photo ID, and one had to vote by paper ballot due to an issue with the electronic system. Election officials say it’s likely that not all of the provisional ballots will be valid. They will be counted on Thursday.

Once Jacobs is officially declared the winner of the election, he will go on to face the Democratic nominee in the general Mayoral election taking place on November 6th.
