— As previously reported, NJPW Star Katsuyori Shibata suffered what was a serious head injury in his match against Kazuchika Okada at Sakura Genesis.

— Soon thereafter, there was confusion whether the injury was legitimate or an intricate work to try and sell the brutality of the match, but according to Dave Meltzer of f4wonline.com, it appears the injury was indeed legit and the news is not good.

— Due to the combination of the head trauma as a result of the skull-on-skull headbutt and dehydration suffered during the match, Shibata suffered some right side paralysis which reportedly has gone better over the last couple of days. He is still in hospital, but awake and able to converse with some memory of the match itself, however, there are fears that he may never be cleared to wrestle again.
