Kofi Kingston To Undergo Ankle Surgery, Will Miss Weeks Of Shows

The WWE announced Monday that New Day high flyer Kofi Kingston will undergo arthroscopic surgery to remove bone chips from his ankle.
Kingston was injured last week on Raw during a match against The Revival, who made their debut on the main roster. Dash and Dawson defeated New Day’s Xavier Woods and Big E before viciously attacking Kingston after the match. Kingston was reportedly screaming in pain after the attack, which is cited as the cause of the injury.
Dr. Chris Amann said Kingston told him he “heard a crack” during the attack, and was unable to put weight on the leg after it was over.

“Further evaluation and an MRI revealed that the attack had caused fragments of bone to break off the ankle bone (talus), requiring arthroscopic surgery to remove the bone chips from the damaged joint,” Amann said.
The WWE.com report said Kingston will be out of action for a few weeks while he recovers from surgery.
