Litchfield Cancelled, Mt. Washington “On” … With A Backup

As of this moment, the 60th “Run to the Clouds” at Pinkham Notch in Gorham, NH, is still slated for June 20. If postponed, the backup to this date will be August 22. The entire 1,100 runner field, chosen by lottery, is already in place.

One of the most unique races in the country, Mt. Washington offers its intrepid field 7.6 uphill miles with a 4,650 foot vertical gain at a maximum grade of 22%.

From spokesperson and longtime committee member Beth Murphy:

All:

It is with heavy heart that I write to you all to let you know that the Board has decided to cancel this year’s race. With all that is happening right now, it was very unlikely that we would have had permission to gather and the health and safety of our families and Community was the most important factor in this decision.

We will look forward to an outstanding and special  race in 2021 so rest up!!

Stay home and safe; and for those of you who may have to be working, thank you for all that you are doing to keep us safe.

Beth and the entire Board of Directors
