Lucha Bros to Sign Exclusive US Deals With AEW, Del Rio/MMA News

Few stars are as in-demand right now as Pentagon Jr. and Fenix. The two brothers spent years making a name for themselves in Mexico, but audiences all over the world can’t get enough of the Luchadors. In the United States, Pentagon and Fenix have wrestled for Lucha Underground, Impact Wrestling, MLW, and several other promotions. They have also been confirmed for All Elite Wrestling’s Double or Nothing show in May. The Lucha Bros will be taking on Matt and Nick Jackson of The Young Bucks for their AAA tag team titles during the event. Although the two of them are arguably among the most popular wrestlers in the world today, they may be getting ready to commit to only one promotion in the near future.
The Lucha Bros are reportedly in the process of signing new contracts with AEW which will make both of them exclusive to the promotion. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW will be the official home of The Lucha Bros in the United States as soon as the deal is completed. AEW has a partnership with the AAA Lucha Libre promotion in Mexico, so the brothers will almost certainly still be able to wrestle over there. The deal is being worked on right now by key personnel in AEW and AAA, and it looks like both brothers will be taking the offer eventually. Pentagon and Fenix will make their AEW debuts during the Double or Nothing event when they wrestle The Young Bucks in Las Vegas, Nevada on May 25th.
Alberto El Patron (aka Alberto Del Rio) has largely remained distant from pro wrestling ever since he left Impact Wrestling months back. Alberto is now said to be focusing on his MMA career, and the former WWE Champion may have just scored his biggest fight yet. It was just announced that former UFC fighter Tito Ortiz has signed with Combates Americas, which is a promotion that Alberto has ties to. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, a fight between the two men could be in the works for a future show. Alberto has said before that he would love to fight again at some point. He has not competed in an MMA fight since 2010, but this may be one box office battle that is worth stepping back in the cage again for.
