Flanked in the audience by wife Reby and their kids, Hardy gave the news to Tony Schiavone and was then interrupted by a vignette showing a man in a black sweatshirt lighting pictures of Hardy on fire. It was revealed to be Sammy Guevara.

Guevara then admitted to attacking Hardy’s knee on a previous Dynamite and said that every week they clear Hardy, he’s going to injure him again. “It’s not over until I send you home for good,” he finished. Hardy then said his first order of business upon returning is Guevara.

The 46-year-old has been out of action since injuring himself at AEW All Out. Guevara speared him off a scissor lift, leading to Hardy’s head accidentally hitting flush on the concrete floor upon impact. There were conflicting reports that Hardy got a concussion in addition to a controversy about him being allowed to even continue the match that night.

On the September 9th Dynamite, Hardy said he expected to make a full recovery and wanted to work toward his first AEW title when he returned.
