In a thrilling Fatal-4-Way matchup on tonight’s edition of WWE 205 Live, Drew Gulak scored a victory over Hideo Itami, Mustafa Ali and TJ Perkins to become the next #1 contender to the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.

Gulak has shown a newfound aggression in recent months that has seen the leader of the “No Fly Zone” rise to brand new heights — irony notwithstanding. This big win comes as a bit of an upset, with former champion TJP in the mix as well as the hard-hitting Hideo Itami, who is set to return to Japan later this year hot off a recent program with reigning champion Cedric Alexander.
This marks Gulak’s first ever one-on-one championship match since joining the WWE roster in the inaugural Cruiserweight Classic tournament back in 2016. As of now, the date of the match has yet to be officially announced.
This may be the only exception for "no celebrating." Congrats, @DrewGulak! #205Live pic.twitter.com/uNGiPIcXKz
