FC Lorient have announced the appointment of former French international defender Bernard Casoni as their new manager.

Casoni had not been a favourite for the job and was eventually chosen by Les Merlus after failed efforts for Hubert Fournier and Rémi Garde.

The details of Casoni’s contract with FCL have yet to be officially determined or announced.

Casoni will be presented to the media tomorrow evening. His last foray into management came in Eastern Europe with Videoton, a position that he left in the summer of 2015.
