Original ‘Blue’s Clues’ Host Challenges John Cena

As we previously noted, John Cena appears to have auditioned for the role of show host for Nickelodeon’s upcoming reboot of the classic show “Blue’s Clues”, and you can check out the footage below.

TMZ recently spoke with original show host Steve Burns, who does not necessarily feel a celebrity like John Cena is what the show needs as its host. Burns adds that he likes the idea of a normal guy hosting the show, because that’s what he was, a normal, “weird” looking guy, and not a “buff celebrity” like John Cena.

Burns then challenges to “wrestle” Cena for the job, which Burns would like to land.

In the second video below, TMZ seems to dispell the rumor that Cena was auditioning for the show host role, claiming Cena was merely wearing a “Blue’s Clues” shirt while making an appearance onstage for the Nickelodeon upfronts.
