Caen will be hoping to close the gap between themselves and Monaco when the two teams meet at the Stade Michel d’Ornano on Friday evening. The hosts currently sit fourth in the table, eight points behind second-placed Monaco, but perhaps more importantly, level on points with third-placed Lyon. Caen have won their last two league outings, beating Rennes at home and St Etienne away.
Monaco, meanwhile, will be out to further solidify their position in the Champions League qualification places. The visitors are in excellent form, having lost just one of their last 15 in the league, and have subsequently put themselves in a great position to qualify for Europe’s top competition with just 10 games to go.

Caen did, however, manage to hold Monaco to a 1-1 draw at the Stade Louis II earlier this season.
