PSG Ultras boycott Maccabi Haifa Champions League tie

In an official statement from Paris Saint-Germain’s Ultra supporter groups, the Collectif Ultras Paris has boycotted away travel to Israel for their side’s Champions League group game on Wednesday evening due to tough restrictions placed on fans from the Israeli state. Fans wanting to attend the game have considered these restrictions to be  ‘excessive’ once more, in a game which is already difficult to attend for PSG fans. Here is the full statement translated below:

“On this Wednesday 14th September, our club Paris Saint-Germain will travel to Haifa for our second group game in the Champions League to face Maccabi.

We deplore the freedom-taking security conditions put in place by the Israeli state in order to travel to the country. We will always oppose aggressive restrictions on our freedoms during our away travel.

In these conditions, we feel forced to boycott this away game in the face of these excessive restrictions.

Allez Paris !!”
