As we noted moments ago, WWE Smackdown Live star Randy Orton defeated Bobby Roode to become the new WWE United States Champion. With his title win, Orton joins an elite club of WWE stars who are Grand Slam Champions, having won the WWE Title, the U.S. Title, the Intercontinental Title and WWE Tag Team Titles. Additionally, with his U.S. Title win, The Viper has now won every WWE main roster title currently defended in WWE.
Interesting Orton Title Statistic
Interestingly enough, the WWE Stats & Info Twitter account noted today that tonight’s match was the first time in his 16 year career that Randy Orton has ever challenged for the WWE U.S. Title.
It took @REALBobbyRoode 147 days after his #SDLive debut to become US Champion, which he is defending tonight at #WWEFastlane.
