Rennes sign interim manager Julien Stéphan to season-long deal

Ligue 1 side Rennes have announced this afternoon the contract extension of interim coach Julien Stéphan until the end of the 2019/20 campaign.

Stéphan had previously been in charge of the club’s reserve team and recently received an offer from AS Monaco and Thierry Henry, with the latter wanting to make the son of France assistant manager Guy Stéphan his assistant manager in the Principality.

Stéphan recently replaced Sabri Lamouchi, who was dismissed by Rennes President Olivier Létang earlier this month.

Rennes face a key match in the Europa League tomorrow against Astana, which the Ligue 1 side has to win in order to progress.
