Robert Kraft Tries To Suppress Video In Prostitution Case

Robert Kraft’s legal team filed a motion Thursday to suppress a video recording related to accusations he solicited prostitution at a Florida massage parlor in January. Kraft’s lawyers claimed the video was the result of “an unlawful sneak-and-peek search warrant.”

“The Town of Jupiter Police Department used (video) to spy on Mr. Kraft and others, while they were in the private rooms of a licensed spa receiving treatment from licensed masseuses,” Kraft’s lawyers wrote in the motion.

Kraft, 77, was charged with two counts of soliciting prostitution. Police said he paid for sex acts at the Orchids of Asia Day Spa in Jupiter on Jan. 19 and Jan. 20.

Kraft’s defense team, led by attorney William Burck, accused Florida authorities of overreach.

“Florida resorted to the most drastic, invasive, indiscriminate spying conceivable by law enforcement — taking continuous video recordings of private massages in which customers would be stripping naked as a matter of course — in order to prosecute what are at most misdemeanor offenses,” the motion read.

The motion came two days after Kraft waived his arraignment and requested a jury trial. Kraft is due in court April 9.

Kraft on Saturday issued vague apology and did not admit to any specific wrongdoing.

“I am truly sorry,” Kraft said. “I know I have hurt and disappointed my family, my close friends, my co-workers, our fans and many others who rightfully hold me to a higher standard.”
