Roman Reigns Talks Potential Showdown Against UFC Champion Jon "Bones" Jones (Video)

“The Big Dog” Roman Reigns appears to be eyeing a potential mega-fight challenge against UFC Champion Jon “Bones” Jones inside the WWE ring in the future.

The WWE Superstar recently spoke with TMZ Sports and was asked about his interest-level in a potential showdown against the UFC star inside the squared circle in the world of sports entertainment.

When asked about a potential scrap against the MMA legend, Reigns replied, “It would be a hell of a fight, but when it comes to the squared circle, I don’t think there’s anybody better in the world [than me].”

“The Big Dog” of WWE added, “So, yeah, I feel very comfortable being in the ring with Jon Jones.”

The timing of the comments are particularly interesting, considering the fact that the reigning UFC Light Heavyweight Champion told Sports Illustrated this week in a promotional interview for his UFC 247 pay-per-view title defense that an eventual transition from the Octagon in the UFC to the squared circle in WWE is “inevitable.”

Speaking of his title defense, Jon “Bones” Jones retained his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship with a successful defense against previously undefeated, top-ranked knockout artist Dominick Reyes. Jones earned a five-round unanimous decision victory in the main event of UFC 247 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on Saturday night, February 8th.

While he is confident in his ability against “Bones” Jones in his own yard, “The Big Dog” did point out that he would assume the future UFC Hall Of Fame fighter would want to test himself against the best that WWE has to offer, which is himself.

“Oh for sure, someone like Jon Jones,” Reigns started, “I mean, if you’re going to step in the WWE ring, you’re most likely going to want to step in there with ‘The Big Dog.'”

Reigns did suggest to the UFC veteran that he ride out his MMA career before even thinking about making the move to the squared circle in WWE.

“I would say keep your eye on the ball now, Jon,” Reigns suggested. “Don’t worry about WWE [right now].”

He did, however, make sure to share his belief that if-and-when the time comes, “Bones” Jones has all of the tools to become a high-profile WWE Superstar.

“I definitely think there could be a future for him if he could put in the time and transition and develop the skills that we use,” said Reigns.
