Animal cruelty is not confined to India alone. People all over the world have little or no sympathy for animals. They are not only ill-treated but are left on their own if they suffer an injury.

Just a month ago disturbing images of people abandoning their pets during California wildfirewere shared on social media. Cats, horses, dogs, giraffes, pigs and other animals were partially burnt, left starving, some tied to the fence as the raging fire approached them.

Now, a new incident from South Carolina, U.S has emerged where a Great Dane was left starving, tied to a pole who ate its own foot to survive. The dog was being kept as a pet at the home of South Carolina residents, Jessica James, 32, and Skylar Craft, 38.
