Swifties, please remain calm.
Taylor Swift has just debuted the video for the second single, “You Need to Calm Down,” off her new album, “Lover,” on sale Aug. 23. The song, released last Thursday, is a tongue-in-cheek celebration of love, tolerance and the LGBTQ community.
And it’s Pride month, so Tay Tay asked a veritable who’s who of queer Hollywood to join her for the occasion, including RuPaul, Ellen DeGeneres, “Orange Is the New Black” trans actress Laverne Cox and the inimitable red carpet kween Billy Porter.

“Lover” is a stark departure from the fierce and vengeful persona of “Reputation.” These days, Swift is bathed in butterflies and rainbows, so it’s no surprise this latest video drop is full of flowers, candy and a set to rival Barbie’s Dream Trailer Home — meaning lots and meaning lots of pastel and glitter.
And putting those “Bad Blood” rivalry rumors to rest, Swift invited fellow starlet Katy Perry to stop by in her custom cheeseburger costume a la this year’s Met Gala. Swift, of course, was dressed as a box of french fries as they danced and hugged — the best they could in their comically awkward suits.
“Asked a few friends to be in the ‘You Need to Calm Down’ video,” Swift wrote in a recent Instagram post.
