There’s a Fijian behemoth devastating Super Rugby who needs an army to take him to ground

LAST WEEKEND WE discussed some of the prominent trends in Super Rugby as the competition reaches its halfway stage but we omitted one major talking point:

Crusaders wing Nemani Nadolo is a freight train!

The Fijian wrecking ball is very quick, exceptionally powerful and has an excellent ability to free his hands in contact.

These skills were all on show in the Crusaders derby against the Highlanders on Saturday.

The Canterbury side were defeated 25-20 but Nadolo was dominant in the first half, creating both of his side’s tries.

Flanker Matt Todd first crossed in the corner after the wing was somehow able to deliver this sumptuous offload.

His side-door pass was exquisite but he showed another side to his game for the second try. This time, he stood at first receiver and easily got over the gain line, allowing Jordan Taufua to dive over from a yard out.

The Highlanders got back in the game through an excellent Ben Smith try. Out-half Lima Sopoaga glided through a gap like Voldemort before feeding the All Black for the run-in.

Two second half tries from Highlanders wing Waisake Naholo sealed the game for the visitors but the performance of his opposite number was the big talking point.

It will be interesting to see how Nadolo fares in the World Cup, where Fiji will play England, Wales, Australia and Uruguay.
