With less than four weeks until WWE invades New York and New Jersey for what is sure to be an incredible and massive WrestleMania weekend, the match card is starting to come together at a rapid rate.
Six matches have been officially announced for this year’s Showcase of the Immortals, although some of them still require a bit more information, such as Kurt Angle’s opponent in his retirement match, and which Superstar will win the ongoing 205 Live tournament to challenge Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship.
OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCED SO FAR…
RAW Women’s Championship Match
— Ronda Rousey (c) vs. Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair
WWE Universal Championship Match
— Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Seth Rollins
No Holds Barred Match
— Dave Bautista vs. Triple H
— Kurt Angle’s Farewell Match
WWE Cruiserweight Championship Match
— Buddy Murphy (c) vs. [Cedric Alexander or Tony Nese]
— The Miz vs. Shane McMahon
VERY LIKELY TO BE ANNOUNCED…
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
Next week on Smackdown Live, Kofi Kingston will have to defeat five former champions (Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Cesaro, Sheamus and Erick Rowan) in a grueling gauntlet match. If he wins, he’ll get Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. With three weeks left until the big day they’re pretty much out of time to go in another direction.
ROMAN REIGNS vs. DREW MCINTYRE
All signs point to this match at WrestleMania, after McIntyre delivered a savage beating to the Big Dog on RAW this week, putting Reigns out of action with what certainly looks like a story-driven concussion. There’s also the Dean Ambrose angle to consider. It’s possible this could be turned into a tag team match with Baron Corbin added to the mix, but we assume most fans would prefer the singles match option.
RANDY ORTON vs. AJ STYLES
This is all but set in stone. After a tremendous back-and-forth promo this week on Smackdown Live, AJ Styles officially challenged The Viper to a match at WrestleMania to settle the score. Who is better, the born-and-bred WWE Superstar created by “The Machine”, or the seasoned “indie darling” who had to scrape and claw his way to the main event of WWE after two decades of excellence? We’re gonna find out!
REY MYSTERIO vs. ANDRADE
It’s been fairly obviously since January that they were working towards a match between these two at WrestleMania. They had two matches on television that basically ended with an even score and no conclusive winner. They didn’t wrestle at Elimination Chamber, and their Fastlane singles match got scrapped. Both guys are still messing around with Samoa Joe and R-Truth in the U.S. title picture, which is a bit confusing, but we’re still pretty sure this is the direction they’re going in.
WHAT’S LEFT?
SMACKDOWN TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Usos and The Hardyz have been teasing a match on social media for the last few weeks, but that hasn’t really translated to television yet. A few other teams seem to also be in the mix including Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura, The Bar, and the still undefeated Aleister Black and Ricochet.
RAW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
The Revival has been battling Bobby Roode and Chad Gable for months now, but that program seems to be headed directly for WrestleMania. That being said, the aforementioned Aleister Black and Ricochet have also been mixing it up with them recently, and the RAW brand has several other tag teams that could be added to the mix. We’re not really sure where either of those title matches are headed at this point.
SMACKDOWN WOMEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP
…Yeah, we have no idea. Rumor has it the original plan was to have Lacey Evans face Asuka at WrestleMania, but that was before she turned into WWE’s resident runway model. With three weeks left to go it seems way too close to rush her into anything at this point, but we also don’t have a better plan. If you go on TV lately the only thing they’ve maybe hinted at is a triple threat against both Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville.
UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP
This is kind of a mess. R-Truth, Rey Mysterio and Andrade continue to keep themselves in this title picture, but we thought the later two would branch out for their own program by this point. The name “John Cena” keeps popping up, so it’s possible Cena could be involved in a match with Samoa Joe, or potentially cornering R-Truth, since Big Match John is apparently his “childhood hero” now. No idea.
INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
There’s Bobby Lashley. There’s Finn Balor. There’s Lio Rush. I feel like they’ve pretty much exhausted all of the options at the last few pay-per-views, not to mention their numerous matches on WWE television. They have been teasing something between Lashley and Rush, but nothing is clear at this point.
WWE WOMEN’S TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIPS
With three weeks of TV left until WrestleMania we have no idea who will challenge for the brand new titles. There’s Nia Jax and Tamina Snuka to consider, but they already had their match at Fastlane and… well, it wasn’t great. Then there’s whatever is happening with Natalya and Beth Phoenix. There’s also the fact that the titles belong to ALL THREE brands, and The IIconics have basically been begging for a title shot. Perhaps a 4-way match with one team from each brand? Again, we have no idea.
ANYTHING ELSE?

The Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royale? Personally we won’t be sad to see that never come back, but it’s the only way to get everyone the show. Apparently that’s important now. The same goes for the Women’s Battle Royale that debuted last year. Will Undertaker be on the card? What will Braun Strowman do? Who knows! We’ll find out over the course of the next three weeks.
