The trial of a reputed Crips gangbanger accused of trying to murder an FBI agent is set to kick off in Brooklyn court Monday — and a US Attorney is taking the extremely rare step of personally prosecuting the case.

The agent’s bullet-riddled car, as well as the shot-up vehicle of his suspected attacker, also will be brought to the courthouse in an unusual move — so jurors can inspect the gunshot holes themselves, according to court papers.

Defendant Ronell Watson is accused of ambushing Agent Christopher Harper as the fed sat in his car during a narcotics stakeout in Canarsie on Dec. 8, 2018.

The brazen broad-daylight shooting was caught on dramatic surveillance footage, which allegedly showed Watson driving his BMW M5 the wrong way down Canarsie Road to block the agent’s escape before firing at him.

The agent was shot in the torso but survived. He was able to return fire, shooting Watson in the hand, authorities have said.

In a highly unusual move, the top prosecutor for the feds’ Eastern District, US Attorney Richard Donoghue, will appear in front of the courtroom to handle the case himself.

It is equally rare for jurors to actually leave the jury box in order to view evidence, as they will to inspect the vehicles involved.

Watson, 31, is facing charges of attempted murder of a federal officer, assault of a federal officer and possessing and discharging a firearm during a crime of violence.

His gal pal, Molissa Gangapersad, is also headed to trial on charges of making false statements to law enforcement.

Watson faces up to life behind bars if convicted.
