Victims in deadly Long Island crash include woman engaged to be married

Two of the three young women killed in a fiery single-vehicle crash on Long Island have been identified — including one who was engaged to be married, police said Wednesday.

Dorien Lashea Brown, 23, of Mount Sinai, and Rebecca Minunno, 24, of Hampton Bays, died in the tragic Monday night crash in Mount Sinai, cops said.

The identity of the third victim is still pending, according to authorities.

Police say the women were traveling in a 2010 black Jeep Liberty in Mount Sinai when the vehicle veered off the roadway and plowed into a utility pole, causing it to burst into flames shortly after 11 p.m.

The driver and the two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene.

A retired FDNY member who witnessed the crash tried to no avail to save the women, Suffolk police Detective Lt. David Teufel told reporters Tuesday.

Robert Minunno, who identified himself as Rebecca Minunno’s father, told Newsday that his daughter owned the SUV but that she was not driving at the time of the crash.

The victims were described as “fantastic friends” by one of their fathers, according to the news outlet, which reported that police believe they were on their way to a friend’s house.

By Wednesday, messages from loved ones and friends flooded the Facebook pages of the victims.

“3 friends gone just like that, I literally can’t believe it,” Mike Clark posted on Minunno’s page. “I love you guys forever thank you for always being sweet and pure.”

Minunno’s account indicated that she was engaged to Chad Dugan, who posted that he “lost my best friend in the entire world.”

“I couldn’t wait till the day we got married and had kids.. we had such a bright future full of love and memories… I can’t handle this… I can’t do this. I’m drowning in my own thoughts,” Dugan wrote.

“I wish I could take your place….you didn’t deserve this…,” he wrote in another post.

The circumstances of the tragic crash remain under investigation.
