A game of chicken went horribly wrong when a Houston mom ran over her son with her SUV and killed her 3-year-old, a new gut-wrenching video shows.

Footage shows Lexus Stagg, 26, reversing her white Lincoln Navigator in an apartment complex parking lot as her three small children run toward the vehicle. When the kids are just feet from the SUV, it moves forward, trapping one of the kids under the right tire.

Police say Stagg continued to drive forward, running over the boy again with her rear right tire, according to local reports.

“You should be playing Peek-A-Boo with a 3-year-old instead of forcing him to try and dodge a 5,600-pound deadly weapon,” said Sean Teare, chief of the Harris County District Attorney’s vehicular crimes office.

Stagg was arrested and charged with criminally negligent homicide in the June 11 incident.
